Choosing between XS, S, M and L? This guide shows how to measure your dog and check the fit of the AdventurePro Harness, which has an adjustable design, padded panels and a handle.
Start with the measurements
Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Check the length of the back, if you want to compare with a harness your dog already wears.
Use the measurement, not the breed name, to pick the size.
What the adjustable design means for you
The harness is adjustable, so you can fine-tune the fit after choosing the size. That helps when your dog is between sizes or has a thick coat. It also means the fit can be re-set when the coat grows or is trimmed.
The fit check
You should be able to slide two fingers under the straps.
The padded chest and belly panels should sit flat and not slide toward the legs.
The handle should rest on the back, not pull the harness to one side.
Watch your dog walk, trot and sit, and look for rubbing.
