Handled well, a spirulina and chlorella supplement for dogs and cats is simple to keep: here is how to store it, handle it and introduce it with care.
About the product
The title names two ingredients, spirulina and chlorella, and the listing lists dogs and cats as the intended species. The current product label has the complete ingredients, cautions and directions.
Storage and handling
Read the label first: storage instructions come from the container, not from general rules.
Keep it sealed: close the container right after each use.
Choose a dry, cool spot: unless the label says otherwise, away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Keep it out of reach: store it where children and pets cannot get into it.
Use clean, dry utensils: to avoid introducing moisture.
Check dates: note the expiration or best-by date when the product arrives.
Introducing it gradually
Start in a calm period and follow the label directions. Offer it at a regular mealtime and watch how your pet responds. If you have both a dog and a cat, remember that the label directions may differ by species.
A veterinarian check
Check with your veterinarian before starting a new supplement, especially for pets that are pregnant, nursing or on medication.
