The Juke Ball pairs heavy-duty rubber with a vivid yellow finish, and it is the kind of bold, bright toy that looks good against green grass, blue skies and a dog's happy face.
A color that does the talking
Some dog toys disappear into the background. This one does not. The supplier describes the yellow as highly visible and engaging, and it stands out in yards, parks and on hardwood floors. A bright ball is also a photogenic one: it shows up in action shots, in the mouth of a grinning dog or mid-bounce on the lawn.
With a blue harness or collar: a classic color contrast.
With neutral gear: the ball adds a lively accent.
With a gray or black coat: the yellow stands out strongly.
With a green lawn: a sunny pop against the grass.
Getting good photos of play
Take pictures in daylight and let your dog warm up first. Throw the ball a short distance so you can catch the moment of the chase. Keep treats ready for a trade at the end, so that giving the ball back is part of the game.
Looking after it
Check the ball for damage after each play session and retire it if it is cracked or shows loose pieces. Supervise play, rinse it clean and let it dry before storing it.
